Riccall Care Now ‘Hazel’ Benefactors of Hagge Woods

Demonstrating our commitment to our local environment and roots, we’re delighted to have become sponsors of Hagge Woods, through the Hagge Woods Trust.

Three Hagges Wood Meadow

Hagge Woods Trust is an independent environmental charity which aims to restore nature and save struggling species by the creation of a wood-meadow near Riccall and Escrick: Three Hagges Wood Meadow.

Committed to fighting the serious decline in biodiversity and providing the local community with the opportunity to experience the riches of our countryside, Three Hagges Wood Meadow is a magical place to walk, take a picnic and enjoy nature.

Events throughout the year offer everyone the opportunity to learn about native wildlife and plant specifies and last year the Trust ran over 60 events, welcoming over 1000 people.  Local primary schools in the area are making regular visits to the wood-meadow to learn about pollination, seed dispersal, food chains, wildflowers and plants, and use the educational materials that the Trust provides free of charge.

Director of Riccall Care Helen Conroy commented: “We are delighted to be part of this wonderful scheme and look forward to enjoying Three Hagges Wood Meadow with family and friends. Having access and enjoying the outdoors is very important to wellbeing and, through our support, we also want to get the message out to our home care team and clients and hope they, in turn, will visit, benefit and support the Trust.”
